Project Blue Book Case File
St. Cloud, MinnesotaJuly 1955
Summary
On July 23, 1955, at 9:10 p.m. local time in St. Cloud, Minnesota, a civilian reported one round, red object. The Air Force recorded the report under Project 10073, its official record for unidentified flying object reports.
The object looked about the size of a nickel, possibly seen through binoculars. It traveled west at a slow rate of speed. The sighting lasted about seven to eight minutes.
The Air Force noted the object crossed a major part of the sky in a straight course. A check found that an airline flight had left Minneapolis for Fargo, North Dakota about twenty minutes before the sighting. St. Cloud lies on that flight path.
