Summary
On July 5, 1962, U.S. Coast Guard personnel near San Juan, Puerto Rico, reported a light. The sighting was at about 0135Z, over San Juan Harbor near Pier One.
The object was an orange colored light, oval in shape and slightly larger than a star. There was one object. Its altitude was undetermined. It moved downward and to the northeast, very slowly. It made no sound. The report was a CIRVIS report from military personnel.
This report was filed under Project 10073, the Air Force's official record for unidentified flying object reports. The record card lists the conclusion as probably astronomical or possibly a satellite, though the scanned comment is partly garbled.
