Summary

On January 13, 1955, at 9:43 p.m. local time, a civilian witness at Salona Beach, California reported seeing a light blue light that split into two objects. The sighting lasted 20 seconds. The witness observed the objects using ground-visual observation. One object was oblong with a tail, while the other appeared as a blue and white light. The objects were stationary or nearly so. No sound was heard. The Air Force concluded the sighting involved aircraft, possibly a jet aircraft overhead.
