Summary

In March 1962, a military pilot near Ramstein Air Base, Germany, reported one silver object that moved like a very fast aircraft. It first appeared at the pilot's 8 o'clock position and looked like a small delta-wing fighter, then like a sidewinder missile with a dark snout, and finally like a dart-type target. The object came close enough that the pilot altered course. No propulsion was visible. The Air Force noted the pilot's familiarity should rule out known aircraft and drones, and suggested the object was possibly a dart-type target or drone, but said this should have been checked at the reporting base. No firm conclusion was drawn.
