Summary

In April 1955, near Plattsburg, New York, an observer reported an object to the east at about 1:51 a.m. (0651Z). The object then disappeared and reappeared at about 3:34 a.m. (0834Z) and lasted about 30 minutes. The witness said the object changed from red to white and then to colors he described as kelly green, blue, and yellow.

The report arrived late. Because of the delay, the unusual nature of the sighting, the suspicion of a hoax, and the fact that no other people saw the object, no investigation was ordered.
