Summary

On July 2, 1959, near Needles, California, an aircraft crew reported objects in the sky around dusk. The witnesses were civilians. The sighting was reported through the Air Force's unidentified flying object record system.

The crew described four kite-shaped objects, each about the size of a nickel. At first sight one looked like an eagle coming toward the windshield. The objects flew back and forth sideways but stayed in roughly the same position. They were in sight about ten minutes, and the aircraft could not close on them.

The record card noted the sighting was at dusk and the objects did not change with the aircraft's heading. It concluded the sighting was a possible reflection.
