Summary

On March 20, 1961, a civilian north of Roswell, New Mexico, reported a star-like object about 2:20 a.m. The object had a white light and was about the size of a bright star. It appeared to be stationary. It was seen on the rim, or dark portion, of the moon.

On Project 10073, the Air Force's official record for unidentified flying object reports, the comments said the star-like appearance and the stationary position suggested a star. There were a number of bright stars in the area.
