Summary

On November 4, 1961, near North Cape Canaveral, Florida, a civilian witnessed two circular objects descending for about 5 seconds. The objects were very bright green and basketball-sized. They appeared 12 to 15 degrees above the horizon and descended straight down. No sound was heard. The sighting lasted 5 seconds per object, with a 5-minute interval between observations. The witness was a 24-year-old machine shop operator for Pan American Airways, observing with the naked eye at night. An Air Force investigation found no irregular occurrences connected with missile activities. The possible cause was listed as unknown, with no physical evidence available. The Air Force concluded the sighting was unidentified.
