Summary

On November 2, 1956, civilians saw three objects over McKeesport, Pennsylvania. The main witness worked at a steel company. About 25 people watched the objects for roughly four minutes.

The report described three round, bright red objects the size of a pinhead at arm's length. They were in a scattered formation and glowed. They were first seen about 45 degrees above the horizon and faded out at 270 degrees. One object led while the other two crossed its path. They appeared to move at great speed at an estimated 40,000 feet. The objects were seen with the eyes and through binoculars.

A control tower and a radar squadron received no reports that could confirm the sighting, and no jets were flying nearby. Because of the time delay, no aircraft were sent up. The Air Force record card lists the cause as probably aircraft. Project 10073 was the Air Force's official record system for reports of unidentified flying objects.
