Summary

On January 8, 1960, a woman at Bay Port, Long Island, New York, reported that she saw a Russian missile fall into the Great South Bay at about 9:50 p.m. She reported it to the Air Force and the FBI.

The woman said she had recovered a piece of parchment from the nose cone. She also said she had moved out of her Long Island house to her town house in Manhattan because she was being watched, and she threatened to take the matter to a U.S. senator if she did not get action.

The Air Force record card notes she did not say how she could have obtained a piece of the nose cone and calls it obviously a psychological case. This was part of Project 10073, the Air Force's official record for unidentified flying object reports.
