Summary

On September 2, 1957, at about 2000 (8:00 p.m.) over Kelly Air Force Base, Texas, a military witness saw one round object for 20 to 25 minutes. It was about the size of a quarter held at arm's length and was bright like a star but much larger. Its light glowed from five or six points and went from bright to dull several times. The object seemed to hover and then disappeared to the southwest. The Air Force record card lists the conclusion as astronomical, naming Venus. The card notes that the recorded position closely matched the position of Venus for that time and place.
