Project Blue Book Case File
Kelly AFB, Texas, [ILLEGIBLE]Date unknown
Summary
The OCR text in this case file is substantially degraded and garbled throughout. While there are some legible sections, particularly the witness statement forms and the official intelligence report, the overall document quality makes it difficult to construct a reliable narrative of what happened.
From the most legible portions, I can extract the following: On August 14, 1952, an oval-shaped, whitish object was observed by military personnel at Kelly Air Force Base, Texas, near Building 161C on the flight line. The observation occurred at approximately 1110 hours (11:10 a.m.) Central Standard Time and lasted about one minute. The object was estimated to be roughly one-third the size of a B-36 aircraft, traveling at an estimated speed of 500 to 750 miles per hour at an altitude between 5,000 and 7,000 feet. Witnesses reported seeing no visible means of propulsion, no sound, and no exhaust or trail. Weather conditions at the time were fair. The file notes that no interception or identification action was taken, and no physical evidence of the sighting was recovered. The Air Force evaluation appears to have been listed as "unknown."
