Summary
On December 29, 1960, the crew of a T-33 aircraft over Japan reported one object near the Miho radio beacon. The object had an indefinite shape, about the size of a basketball at arm's length. It showed a bright light that changed color in a definite cycle, from intense white to cherry red to green to blue to white.
The object appeared at about 10 degrees elevation bearing 330 degrees from Miho. It disappeared at about 10 degrees elevation bearing 270 degrees from Miho. It moved straight and level and faded to the rear of the aircraft. The sighting lasted about 3 minutes. The observers were two senior Air Force pilots.
