Summary

On December 1, 1958, near Lyon, France, a civilian reported three sightings of unidentified objects. The witness observed an object three times brighter than stars emitting a white light on two different occasions. During the first sighting at 5:45 p.m., the object was positioned 25 kilometers south of Lyon, moving on the horizon at about 6 degrees elevation. The sighting lasted forty-five seconds. The second sighting occurred at 7:15 p.m., 50 kilometers south of Saulize on the same road, with the same heading and light intensity less bright than before. The object had a white trail and remained visible for forty-five seconds. Weather was clear. The Air Force evaluation is not indicated in the available documents.
