Summary

On April 19, 1953, at about 1630 (4:30 p.m.) Mountain time, a civilian woman reported an object near Grand Valley, Colorado. She was driving near an oil shale plant on her way from Denver toward Grand Junction. The report reached Lowry Air Force Base.

The object was described as one flying saucer with vivid colors. It was seen above and beyond an airplane that was flying from Denver to Grand Junction. The woman stopped her car and watched for some time. She gave no other details such as altitude, sound, speed, or maneuvers.

There were no photos and no physical evidence. The Air Force considered the observer unreliable. The Air Force concluded the case was an unreliable report.
