Summary

On March 11, 1957, military witnesses near Glynco Naval Air Station, Georgia, reported at least two objects. The objects were seen from both the ground and the air. The case was logged under Project 10073, the Air Force's official record for unidentified flying object reports. The objects were white, round lights about the size of a nickel at arm's length.

The lights appeared to have been dropped in train and were falling. They were seen in two sightings a few minutes apart, around 12:10 a.m. and 12:15 a.m. The lights faded out without moving. Navy aircraft tried to investigate with no results. There were scattered clouds at 25,000 feet.

The Air Force said the description indicated a possible flare drop, noting military aircraft were in the area. The evaluation given was a flare drop.
