Summary
On February 4, 1953, at about 9:45 p.m., military personnel saw two objects over Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, Alabama. The main witness was an Air Force captain, and the sighting was confirmed by two other officers.
The captain noticed an object overhead traveling at a very high rate of speed. Its altitude could not be measured but appeared very high. The object looked small from the ground but slightly larger than a star. It was noiseless and gave off a white glow as it passed overhead on a course due west. Before dropping below the horizon, it veered to the northwest and gained altitude, then dropped out of sight.
About one minute later, a second object of the same description appeared on the same course. The second object continued due west, then dropped over the horizon. Each sighting was in view for about 15 seconds.
Weather was clear with unlimited visibility. The observations were made with the naked eye. The record card lists the conclusion as astronomical, citing meteors.
