Summary

On May 29, 1952, around 1:30 p.m. Pacific time, two disc-shaped objects were seen over the northern part of Edwards Air Force Base, California. Seven known observers watched them. The objects were light metallic in color and left no vapor trail and made no sound. They flew a curved, semi-circular path from east to north, then sped up sharply and vanished to the southwest.

Witnesses were laboratory staff of a research institute at the base, including engineers and people with flying experience. One observer estimated the objects were about 200 to 450 mph and flew in loose formation, one behind and to the right of the other. Four of five witnesses saw no wings or tail. Weather was clear with about 20 miles visibility.

A helicopter and two aircraft were seen near the same time and altitude, but the report says no known weather or other condition explained the sighting. There were no photos or physical evidence. The record card lists possible conclusions of balloon, aircraft, or astronomical, but notes the objects moved too fast for a balloon.
