Project Blue Book Case File

Edwards AFB, CaliforniaFebruary 1955

Unidentified

Summary

The OCR is severely degraded across most of these pages, making it impossible to reliably extract specific sighting details. Pages 2 through 10, which likely contain the narrative case file, are almost entirely illegible. While the cover sheet and index pages reference sightings at Edwards AFB in February and March 1955, no coherent case narrative can be reconstructed from the available text.

Two objects were observed traveling north at Edwards Air Force Base, California in February 1955 at a speed four times faster than jets. The objects had delta wings with rounded wing tips and appeared to fly backward. The Air Force investigators noted apparent inconsistencies in the witness statements and concluded the sighting was probably a Navy Sky-ray aircraft, suggesting that the apparent backward movement was likely due to the observer's imagination.

The full case file is reproduced below as held by the National Archives, comprising 22 pages of microfilm.
