Continental Divide AFS, New MexicoDecember 1957

Unidentified

Summary

On December 11, 1957, observers near Continental Divide Air Force Station, New Mexico reported up to about two dozen oblong objects the size of a pencil eraser, colored like cigarette ash. The objects flew in no set formation and had a sharply defined leading edge with a tail. The Air Force recorded the case under Project 10073, its official record for unidentified flying object reports. The card notes that the Geminid meteor shower was very prominent that year and that this sighting was probably meteors from that shower.
