Summary

On December 2, 1958, near Bahia Blanca, Argentina, three luminous objects were seen falling about five miles south of the city at 2:23 p.m. An air traffic control tower operator and airline pilots reported seeing the objects fall through the air. Argentine civil and military pilots had been alerted to watch for the reentry of Sputnik 3. Argentine Air Force and civilian aeronautics officials revealed that the objects were signal flares used by the Army on maneuvers. The Air Force evaluation was listed as unknown.
