Summary

On November 12, 1960, a civilian pilot for Eastern Airlines reported sighting an unidentified object 50 nautical miles north of Louisville, Kentucky, at 12:13 a.m. The pilot described a white object resembling a rocket or missile with a white tail or exhaust, flying at low trajectory at approximately 20,000 feet. The sighting lasted about 30 seconds. The pilot was flying an Eastern Airlines aircraft heading 352 degrees CMH at 240 knots when the observation occurred. No other aircraft reported similar sightings. The Air Force evaluation was listed as unknown.
