Summary

On May 17, 1963, the crew of a Military Air Transport Service C-135 aircraft over the Pacific Ocean reported a bright greenish white flare. The position was about 46 degrees north, 173 degrees west. The aircraft was at 37,000 feet. The flare burst into two orange trails.

The object moved from east to west, with about a 45 degree downward path.

The Air Force, in its Project 10073 record, reported the object as a flare and said the description conformed with that finding. A later evaluation message left the case not evaluated.
