Summary

On May 1, 1962, near 42.5 degrees north and 155.2 degrees east in the Pacific Ocean, the crew of the USS Merrimac observed a two-engine aircraft with red markings flying low over their ship. The object swept over at swept-back wing at 0 degrees suppost babback wing 0th with red "Y" on the tail and red star on the tail. The aircraft had a steep climb, flew parrell course of 52 degrees, and passed 100 feet above the surface. The sighting lasted not specified. On May 11, 1962, Naval Station Victor reported the incident via emergency message. The Air Force evaluated the sighting as no threat.
