Summary

On February 23, 1962, a military air crew north of Bermuda (about 31-53N 72-00W) reported one object visible for less than 25 seconds. The crew described it as very fast, like a big comet, moving parallel to their aircraft. It was at an estimated altitude of 9,000 to 12,700 feet on a heading of 107 degrees magnetic and held a level course with no climb or descent. The Air Force noted the object had the characteristics of a meteor, with a slightly long duration. The record card concluded the sighting was astronomical (a meteor).
