Summary

On March 15, 1962, the pilot of a Pan American civilian flight over the Atlantic (about 22N 67-20W) reported one object. The aircraft was enroute from San Juan to New York at 26,000 feet. The pilot watched the object for almost a minute as it traveled from west to east. It looked like a large ball with a long white tail like a comet. No time of the sighting was given. The Air Force noted the description matched a meteor except for the long duration. The record card listed the case as insufficient data.
