Summary

On August 24, 1956, a civilian in Westerville, Ohio reported seeing one round object the size of a basketball at arm's length. The object had a red light in the sky very high above the trees and seemed to be standing still. It was light faded and diminished to the size of a softball at arm's length. The observer watched it for about 10 minutes and it remained in sight at the time of the report. The Air Force's evaluation concluded the sighting was probably a balloon.
