Summary

On January 7, 1956, two people saw strange objects over Turlock, California. The Greenwich time was 0715Z on January 8. The observers were civilians, described as students.

They reported two round, blue green objects, each about the size of a baseball held at arm's length. The objects appeared to move up and down. The sighting was made at about a 45 degree angle from the observers.

Fighters were sent to the area. The pilots reported they saw nothing except two very bright stars overhead.

The case is filed under Project 10073, the Air Force's official record for unidentified flying object reports. The Air Force conclusion was astronomical, that the sighting was caused by two exceptionally bright stars.
