Summary

On July 12, 1955, at Stockton, California, witnesses reported one object for about ten minutes. The sighting was seen from the ground.

The object was a single bright flash with an amber-like trailing smoke, traveling north. It appeared to dissipate after about ten minutes.

The Air Force comments say investigators checked the timing and found this sighting and a related report were close in time and had comparable descriptions and the same direction of travel, suggesting one event seen by two parties at a large distance. The card concludes the object was probably astronomical.
