Summary

On January 30, 1955, on St. Lawrence Island, Alaska, observers reported a reddish-white light. The light was about 200 yards from the witnesses. It stayed in one place and did not move.

The light appeared three times. Each time it showed for about three seconds, with about five minutes between appearances.

The Air Force suggested the light may have been a pilot light on a sea vessel. The report was drawn from an intelligence message and kept on file in the records repository.
