Summary
On the evening of November 6, 1957, at 8:40 p.m., a witness in Springfield, Ohio saw a very bright white light in the sky moving in a weaving pattern. The object appeared to be about the size of a dinner plate and remained visible for roughly ten seconds before disappearing.
The witness watched the light move northward with its fuzzy or blurred edges. According to the Air Force's initial evaluation, the object was identified as a meteor based on its description as a bright white light and its short duration of observation.
