Unidentified

Summary

On October 5, 1957, at 1:15 p.m. in San Antonio, Texas, a civilian witness reported seeing a cigar-shaped aluminum object about the size of a fountain pen. The object was sighted overhead traveling west for 4 to 5 seconds. A jet noise was heard, and then the object was spotted. The Air Force investigator noted that the source probably saw an aircraft. Since many late-model aircraft designs only show the fuselage from certain angles and not the wings, the object may have been an aircraft viewed from a perspective where wings were not visible. The case was evaluated as unidentified.
