Summary

On March 29, 1955, near Richmond, California, an observer reported one round object about the size of a nickel held at arm's length. It was seen to rise from the ground at about a 15-degree angle. The object flashed red and green in turn. Pilots scrambled aircraft and searched the area.

A check of astronomical charts found no heavenly bodies in the direction of the sighting.

The report noted that the rising, flashing red and green lights seemed to point away from an astronomical cause. The case is recorded under Project 10073, the Air Force's official record for unidentified flying object reports.
