Summary
In August 1952, civilians at Redding Municipal Airport in California reported seeing seven or eight objects flying in a straight line at very high speed. The observers watched the objects from the ground during clear weather. No sound was heard, and the sighting lasted approximately 15 minutes. The objects were observed at a very high altitude.
The report was received by the Air Force on August 9, 1952, at 8:43 p.m. Pacific time. The witnesses filled out detailed questionnaires describing what they saw, though the handwritten responses in the file are difficult to read in places. The observers indicated they were watching the objects with the naked eye from outdoors.
