Summary

On September 10, 1957, at about 0815 (8:15 a.m.) in Portland, Oregon, a civilian saw one oblong object against a bright blue sky. The object was the color of an electric light seen through opaque white glass. It traveled west fast enough that it grew dimmer as it passed out of sight. The witness reported it by letter to the Air Force. The weather was clear. The unit's intelligence officer offered no comment. The Air Force record card for Project 10073, its official record for unidentified flying object reports, lists the conclusion as probably aircraft.
