Summary

On March 13, 1961, a civilian in Osgood, Indiana reported a UFO sighting. The witness observed a light object that resembled a star oscillating in brightness. The object traveled from low in the south to the southeast, reaching an elevation of approximately 40 to 45 degrees at its peak. The sighting lasted from 7:55 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. EST. The object grew dim and then bright again during the observation. After coordination with the National Space Surveillance Center, the Air Force determined the object was satellite Echo 1. The evaluation was listed as unknown.

10. BRIEF SUMMARY OF SIGHTING Light objt like a star traveling from low S to SE at about 40-45°. Changed fm bright to dim and back to bright, etc.

11. COMMENTS After coordination with the National Space Surveillance Center, it was determined that objt was satellite Echo 1.
