Summary

On October 1, 1954, at Oceana, Virginia, a Navy pilot and ground observers reported a sighting of a single object. The object appeared as a solid trail of blue-white light with no sound, traveling in straight and level flight. The observation lasted 20 seconds and came from both ground visual and air visual perspectives. The object appeared to come from a tail pipe and was also observed from a POF-5 aircraft. The Air Force concluded the sighting was a meteor.
