Summary

On November 1, 1957, at 6:45 p.m., a civilian in North Bellmore, Long Island, New York reported seeing a round object the size of a baseball that was white in color. The witness was looking up into the sky when they spotted it. The object moved in a course bearing of 62 to 70 degrees southwest and remained visible for 5 minutes. The object was observed by ground visual means at night. The witness provided information suggesting the sighting was probably the planet Venus. The Air Force evaluation was listed as unknown.
