Summary

On May 21, 1960, a witness in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, saw a bright object in the sky. The card lists one object that approached the observer.

The object looked smooth and somewhat like a disc. It was about the size of a star and very bright blue, like the planet Venus. As it came closer it grew bigger and then appeared to burst.

This report was filed under Project 10073, the Air Force's official record for unidentified flying object reports. The Air Force concluded the description matched a balloon in flight that then burst, and the card marked the case as probably a balloon.
