Summary

On a spring day in April 1955, an observer in Mira Loma, California reported seeing a single object in the sky. The object was generally white with a reddish tint. It made no noise and left no visible vapor trail or exhaust. The witness watched as it drifted slowly to the south.

The Air Force's 4602d Air Intelligence Service Squadron investigated the sighting. They checked with weather stations in the area around Mira Loma. Those checks indicated that a weather balloon was aloft at the time the object was reported. The Air Force concluded the sighting was probably caused by that weather balloon.
