Summary

On the night of June 13, 1954, a ground witness near Memphis, Tennessee, saw a glowing object in the sky north of the city. The sighting lasted 15 to 20 minutes. The object had an oval shape that was partly horizontal. It gave off an orange glow with no lights. The witness described two objects that merged into one.

The object moved toward the north, appeared to hover, then disappeared to the north. The report was passed along by a flight service operations office. A Navy blimp was reported over Memphis around the same time. The Air Force record card did not list a final finding for this sighting.
