Summary

On September 10, 1962, a resident of Macon, Georgia reported seeing a brief, unexplained light in the sky. The witness observed a yellow, solid object that appeared as a light in the eastern part of the sky, positioned about 33 degrees above the horizon. The object moved from east to west and vanished after roughly 13 seconds of flight time.

The sighting was brief and the witness was looking north when they first noticed the object streaking across the sky like a dot. The Air Force's initial assessment noted that the limited data available suggested a possible meteor sighting. The case file itself contains OCR transcription errors and several pages of standard Air Force questionnaires that are difficult to read, which limits the depth of investigative detail available.

The Air Force ultimately evaluated this sighting as "unknown," meaning it could not be conclusively identified. No further analysis or explanation appears in the file.
