Summary

At approximately 0130 hours on September 6, 1952, a T/Sergeant stationed at Lake Charles Air Force Base in Louisiana observed an unusual object in the sky northeast of the base. The object appeared round in shape, brighter than a star, and glowed white with a blinking quality. Two airmen, an A/1C and an A/2C, also witnessed the object that night and confirmed the T/Sergeant's account.

The object moved in a distinctive pattern. It would hover in a circular area, then suddenly shift to another location and repeat the motion. It appeared to rise and drop at irregular intervals and could move very fast, sometimes to the left or right but not always in a straight line. The witnesses reported no sound or visible exhaust. The observation lasted approximately one hour before the witnesses stopped watching and went to sleep.

The same or a similar object appeared the following night around 0230 hours on September 7, 1952. This time it moved faster and covered a larger area than on the previous night. Only one of the original three witnesses observed it during the second sighting, and that person watched for approximately two hours.

The witnesses reported clear skies and no wind at the time of both sightings. They noted no other aircraft in the area. No photographs, physical evidence, or additional investigation was undertaken. The Air Force record indicates the file contains 19 pages and is held at the National Archives on microfilm T1206, Roll 15.
