Summary

On July 3, 1956, an Army observer in Kingston, Washington reported seeing one object the size of a dime at arm's length with unknown shape. The object appeared in the east-southeast at 60 degrees elevation and remained stationary for 35 minutes before fading from view in the same position. The Air Force concluded the sighting was probably caused by a star. Although the Air Almanac failed to reveal any bright star at that exact location, the reporting officer believed any heavenly body in that relative position of the sky could have been the object.
