Project Blue Book Case File

Kenton, OhioOctober 1960

Insufficient Data

Summary

On the evening of October 10, 1960, in Kenton, Ohio, a witness observed three objects that appeared as lights in the sky. The objects came into view at intervals of roughly 15 to 20 minutes. Each one resembled the color and brightness of an electric light bulb and looked about the size of a large star. The witness watched each object for 3 to 5 minutes before it disappeared behind nearby trees about 100 feet away.

The Air Force investigator noted in the case file that the objects' brightness, color, size, and behavior suggested they were probably balloons. No other explanation appears in the available file pages. The case received an "unknown" classification from the U.S. Air Force, though the investigator's written comment leans toward a mundane conclusion.

The OCR quality of this file makes many pages difficult to read with certainty. The form itself contains standard UFO report questions about weather, witness location, direction of observation, and estimated distance, but most responses are too blurred or garbled to extract reliable details beyond the summary on the cover sheet.

The full case file, held by the National Archives, comprises 9 pages as preserved on microfilm T1206, Roll 40.
