Summary

On May 20, 1955, a civilian housewife in Kentfield, California saw a single object at dusk. She first saw it while sitting on the back porch of her home, to the southwest. The sighting lasted about ten seconds.

The object was round and yellow, about the size of a grapefruit held at arm's length. It was moving very fast and heading straight down. It disappeared behind nearby hills.

The Air Force record lists the conclusion as astronomical, a probable meteorite. Officials noted the object had the traits of a meteorite. The Director of Intelligence called it probably a shooting star. No follow-up investigation was authorized.
