Summary

On August 12, 1961, in Kansas City, Kansas, a witness reported an object in level flight. It was elliptical and a dull grey metallic color. It gave off a blast of greenish white exhaust about half the size of the object itself. It flew from east to southwest and made no sound. The sighting lasted less than one minute. The Air Force pointed to the greenish white color, the short duration, the level flight, and the lack of sound. The card lists the cause as a meteor.
