Project Blue Book Case File
Jackson, Missippi, October 1956October 1956
Summary
On October 24, 1956, a civilian saw several objects over Jackson, Mississippi. The witness happened to glance up while driving a car. The objects were in sight for about 13 to 15 seconds.
The report described four to six objects that were bead shaped and oblong. They were the size of a pea and silver in color. They were widely spaced in a straight line and did not maneuver. The objects held the same position relative to each other. They gradually went out of sight and changed to a gray color. The weather was clear with only a few wispy clouds.
The Air Force card suggested the sighting was possibly aircraft. Because of the short duration and limited data, the case was carried as insufficient data for evaluation. Project 10073 was the Air Force's official record system for reports of unidentified flying objects.
