On July 27, 1952, between 9:23 p.m. and 9:45 p.m., an object was observed near Hamilton Air Force Base, California. The object appeared larger than a star and brightened. Its edges looked rounded and then flattened out. It had a short yellow streamer trailing behind it. The object faded slowly and also moved rapidly. Movement was slow overall. An observer on the ground using binoculars watched the sighting. Weather conditions were very clear. A ground observer post near NH 5859 reported the object moving in a northwest to southeast direction at an unknown altitude. The Air Force evaluation is not clearly stated in the available pages.
