Summary
On April 21, 1952, near Holmen, Wisconsin, a civilian woman reported an unidentified flying object. The sighting happened about 0405 (4:05 a.m.) while she was driving north on a highway between Holmen and Galesville during a rainstorm.
The witness said she could not give a complete description because she viewed the object through her windshield in the rain. She reported that it seemed to be spinning and was flying parallel to the ground in a straight southerly direction. She said flames appeared to come from both ends of the object.
She also reported a clear whooshing sound that she heard over her windshield wipers. The sound seemed to come at about one second intervals, matching each turn of the object. The local weather showed overcast skies, rain showers, and reduced visibility. The record card notes the object may have been a light blurred by rain on the windshield. The case was marked Possibly Astronomical.
